I've updated the flyer below.
Hi Gang,
Can't wait until the 4th April for the 8's 25 Anniversary, have been doing a little research on the 8's for my program and came across a article from a Sydney Newspaper from the mid 80's.
The Straight 8's
Only the Wildest
Rockabilly
If you happen to see a large, forty seater, Bedford Bus, painted pink and black, slipping quietly into Sydney on Thursday morning, then you'll know that Melbourne's wildest ever rockabilly combo, The Straight 8's have arrived. During the years we have seen some great rockabilly combo emanating from the Southern capital - The Rock-A-Billy Rebels, The Roadsters and the Hot Dogs are Just a few that spring to mind.
Now comes the legendary bass slappin' talents of Graeme Thomas from the Hot Dogs but the great vocals talent of former Rockabilly Rebels, Victor O'Neill. Victor is warmly regarded as one of the best, if not the best rockabilly vocalist in the country.Together with Dave Jacobs and drummer Wayne Marx they form The Straight 8's and Sydney fans are in for a real treat when they unleach their frantic boppin' sounds this coming weekend and next week.
Their opening date is this coming Saturday 1st September at the Miranda Hotel along with the New Dancehall Racketeers and the Gene Vincent Dancers.
(end Of Article)Some punters may have read this, for they ones that haven't
I hope you find it interestin'
So it will be a great night on the 4 of April when they are unleach again with their currant line up for the 25th Anniversary, and some of the ex member's of the 8's being there.
I do believe that the Anniversary CD will be GREAT (say no more on the CD)
