The VRRDA hosted Victoria's premier rock 'n' roll dance competition last weekend again with a resounding success. The event was held at the Hungarian Club in Wantirna South. The hall was wonderfully decorated to suit the occasion with many rockers dressed up in their finest 1950's style clothing reminiscent of the glory days of 1950's style rock 'n' roll era. The event was sponsored by a number of city and country-based rock 'n' roll schools and clubs.
The premier dance event on the night is the Adult State Title won by a dance couple, Suzie & Aaron, from Sydney Swingcatz. This is the second time they have secured the trophy. The Senior State Title (over 50 years age old) is the other premier dance event was won by Helen & Keith, the husband & wife partnership representing Melbourne dance school, Alleycatz.
Who Was That Cat again donated their time for VRRDA this year playing tunes for the main dance events as well as social dancing during the night. All in all, a very successful dance championship and well done to the VRRDA, participating dance schools and to all the competitors who competed in the dance competition.
