Lat weekend, Jon & Zoe's Alleycatz celebrated its 18th birthday in hosting dances and rock n roll classes. They have put in, over the years, a tremendous amount of time and effort together with commitment and dedication in promoting rock n roll dancing & live music in Melbourne. Little wonder, their efforts were deservedly recognised by the VRRDA and inducted into its Hall of Fame this year.

The celebration started on Friday night with Itchy Fingers and Adelaide band, Lucky Seven, playing to a full capacity crowd at the Hungarian Club in Wantirna South. This was repeated the following night at the Polish Club in Sunshine. Both nights were a huge success with great rockin' music played by both bands keeping the dance floor busy all night long. In particular, Lucky Seven specially played a tribute set covering all the top hits from Bill Haley & the Comets.

All guests were greeted with a free champagne on arrival. All patrons were appropriately dressed for the occasion in 1950's clothing and some even in more formal black tie dinner suit. It was such a spectacular sight of 1950's culture and fashion to behold.

Congratulations to Jon & Zoe's Alleycatz in keeping alive the 1950's style music and dance scene in Melbourne. A job well done indeed. See below for a sample of videos taken on the night at the Polish Club......
