Big John Wells, one of rock and roll's most generous and caring personalities, has been dealt a severe blow. Sadly he’s been diagnosed with cancer.
With no reliable income, John and his family's finances are obviously going to take a massive beating. To help alleviate the burden, a Benefit Concert is being held on Sunday 8 August, 2010 at The Mulgrave Country Club commencing at 6:30pm. (Doors open at 6:00pm and meals are available.)
Artists include The Big O & Friends Band, The Eagles Story, The She Laa's, comedian Ben Price, Blues/Rock band Soundunion plus three tribute shows featuring Geoff Kennedy as Elvis, Col Perkins as Johnny O'Keefe and Marion Fay as Connie Francis. The battle is only just beginning for John and the last thing he needs is the added stress of financial woes. Let's give him every opportunity to focus on what matters most, his health and his family. Let's show our support to a man that's supported so many others over the years. The heartfelt concerns and good wishes for John have been fantastic. For those of you who are unable to attend John’s Benefit on Sunday 8th August but would still like to make a contribution, payments can be made in two ways:
1. By Cheque - please make cheques payable to Mulgrave Country Club and mail to Mulgrave Country Club, Cnr. Wellington & Jells Roads, Wheelers Hill, Vic 3150. Please print on the back of the cheque “BENEFIT FOR JOHN WELLS”.
