The memorial hall at Sale would have to be the best kept secret in Victorian Rock'n'Roll.
Massive dance floor, some fantastic dancers, friendly club and DJ Dr Rock.
Rock and Roll heaven.
Dr Rock's first song to set the mood was the theme from the Good The Bad And The Ugly. I knew from then on I was going to enjoy myself.
The room had gentle light instead of the harsh fluros of some community halls and around the perimeter of the room a raised level for more tables. The stage was big and the accoustics of the room bright so the sound was nice and clean.
It was the first time the Rockin Daddys had performed in Sale and what a great occasion to debut.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a great night with support from all the surrounding dance groups and towns.
Kev & carol from Fourmost rocked up to Support the Lakeside Rockers as did the Yarram Festival crowd. All hands on the Sale deck.
Next dance the Lakeside Rockers has, make the effort to head to Sale. From our house it was a 2 hr and 10min drive, so it is not impossible to make it a one night round trip. If you wish to stay over, there is a really nice motel directly opposite, that has rooms with plenty of beds for a few people to share. You can have a dance and a drink and walk home.
Right next door to the dance was the next generation who had been bumped out for the night. The ball room dancing crowd have more woman than men so Peter the DJ in there told us. He also said, they run dance classes 3 times a week plus the R'R's run their dance classes too. A very social and fit community.
THANKYOU JANET and everyone for your hospitality and friendliness.
