Lt Maria did it again with her special theme "Valentines Day" dance last Friday night. Lots of red costumes, love hearts & kisses on display on the night in more ways than one. You could easily spot the couples dancing who are in love or also those seeking that special someone in their lives. The good vibe was certainly there with one of the biggest turn outs for the progressive cha cha cha, the music provided by the Speedsters was just rockin' the whole night and the dancing - well, the fact that the dance floor put up a "no vancancy" sign the whole night says it all. Lots of rock & roll dance newbies as well with Linda bringing along 50 of her newer dance students to experience Melbourne's sensational rock & roll dance scene. Well done, Linda and I hope more rock & roll dance schools in Melbourne do the same in future.
The Speedsters - what more can I say? The band has done it all. It's one of Melbourne's premier rock & roll bands and it seems to be going stronger with each gig. I simply love their selection of songs, including some "swingy" tunes that inspire rock & roll dancing all night long. And I wonder who's that fella in the dark "blues brothers" glasses pounding away "boom boom" on the drums. Well, he adds character to the band and its stage performance - no doubt about it. Well done, Speedsters! You guys rock!
