Pyalong Revisited
If anyone knows how to put on a great rockabilly dance it's Norni and Mick and last Saturday night was no exception. What a bloody fabulous event.
Three bands and five hours of Jump & Jive, Kieron McDonald Combo and Ignition was more than this old bugger could take. I finally had to accept that seventy odd years (including sixty of smoking) has finally taken its toll and that I just can't keep the pace up anymore.
So, I then booked two tickets for the March dance! If I can't dance I can still hear great bands doing what they love and doing it exceedingl well. Must be the country air. I'm sure that there will be many videos to follow this post.
The final hour (may have been less or more, I lost track of time) wes just magic. Ignition and Jump & Jive combined on the stage - with Gordon joining in with his Blues harp - and made music as if the was to be no tomorrow. Half a dozen dancers were at the back of the hall and the rest of us were crowded in front of the stage. I wonder what the Pyalong residents were thinking?
In between all this dancing and jamming was Norni's banquet. What a spread!! I commented to somebody that she must work all night for weeks and was told that she now has a larger stove and oven so it's not so bad. Norni, you are beyond description. I just can't find the adjective.
Thank you Pyalong. Thank you Jump & Jive. Thank you Keiron McDonald Combo. Thank you Ignition. Thank you Gordon.
And finally THANK YOU NORNI AND MICK!!!
