ROY BARNS rest in peace

"Sadly Roy passed away on 19 August 2010 we will all miss him and hope that we all can enjoy our lives as much as he did his.

Roy joined our club in the January 2000 at the ripe old age of 85. In that time he was involved in every aspect of our club. He approached everything with enthusiasm and vigour and was always willing to lend a hand. His passion for having a go at anything and in particular dancing with the ladies was an inspiration to watch. He loved spinning the ladies around and around, often he would hold up his fingers showing three which meant that you were in for three spins, so you just held your breath and around you went. He particularly loved a chat and he loved having tea at White Eagle every Monday night.

Roy would never knock back an invitation and travelled up to Wintersun sharing accommodation with some very nice ladies. He also travelled to Wagga Wagga to be presented with some gorgeous Rock and Roll Debutantes. Roy was the life of the party on one of the earlier Rock and Roll Cruisers and outlasted the others who were a third his age.

Roy had friends far and wide in the Rock and Roll scene but he had two very special people in his lives who were Dennis and Lina. They picked him up each Monday night, dance nights, Barham, picnics and bbq’s and we know they will miss him very dearly.

The funeral is to be held at Tobin Brothers Barkly St. Sunbury on Wednesday August 25 at 10am

I first met Roy many years ago at Petronies' in Keysborough where he was a regular every Wednesday night and bumped into him often at dances in Melbourne and country Victoria at different times. He will be sorely missed..
