In the community spirit the Immortals Motor Bike Club & the Hurstbridge Police Station have united forces toward raising money for a very special girl Madison Bartlett

Countless stories of sorrow and survival have come from the Black Saturday fires, but few could be more poignant than that of 12 year old Madison Bartlett.

She is still in Royal Children’s hospital with burns to 50 percent of her body and will remain in there for some time to come.

When the flames roared towards the Bartlett's St Andrews home on February 7, Jacinta and Gary Bartlett were with Madison and two friends visiting from Queensland. Erin the younger sister was somewhere around the house but no one could find her. With only moments to act, Jacinta and Gary told their friends to take Madison to the dam while they kept looking for Erin. That was the last time Madison saw her family. She took refuge under a wet blanket as the flames passed over. She survived, but with terrible burns that would leave her in intensive care for weeks. Madison is the sole survivor of her family, upon her release from hospital Madison will be cared for by her Grandparents who are in their 70’s. The two policemen who found Madison were so touched by Madison they have set up a foundation
MADISON BARTLETT FOUNDATION.
I along with Immortals Bing and Sean have spoken with Gary Tickell from Hurstbridge Police Station; a cheque will be presented to Gary at the end of the Immortals Bushfire Bash 25th April 2009.
