    FAIR ENTRY PRICE

What is a fair entry price to attend a rock/rockabilly function? What's a fair price at a hotel? What's fair at a festival? What's fair at a dance hall? What impact on what you are prepared to pay depends on the performers on at that event? What impact on what you are prepared to pay depends on whether you have to buy drinks? Why do prices for the identical show vary between capital cities? Is there a price above which you wouldn't go no matter who was performing?

    Re:FAIR ENTRY PRICE

Ian - prices are all over the shop. I spoke yesterday to a 23 y.o. who paid around $400 for a premium Eric Clapton concert ticket. I saw an excellent well-known local solo guitarist/ singer the other night for $10 cc and got a very good couple of hours of excellent playing in a small club environment. I think $10-15 is reasonble in typical pubs and clubs to see an established Rockabilly/R&R act then maybe up to $10 for up and coming acts. Mind you I've been playing for a lot of years rather than paying to watch.
Concerts are another story and I was thinking of going to Roger Water's concert (Pink Floyd) and would have paid over $100 - I remember seeing Pink Floyd at Festival Hall in 1970/71 and it wasn't expensive from what I can remember (pre Dark Side of The Moon!).
