    Camperdown Cruise 2012

Gjo267 asked a valid question and that was - where are the reviews of the other rock & roll festivals held last weekend other than the one he posted of Tallangatta? I did plan to go to the 2012 Camperdown Cruise again last weekend but couldn't make it due to an unforseen circumstance. But I have read lots of comments from friends who have attended, and saw videos and pictures on Facebook and it did sound like another great rockabilly festival and growing in popularity every year. Well done to Arthur & the organising committee with all profits going to charity in that country community.

Thanks to Perthrocks (Josef & Celia), the video below just about sums up the highlights of Camperdown Cruise 2012 - bands from overseas with the Go Getters and Charlie Hightone plus a huge cast of rockabilly and rock & roll bands from all over Australia, classic cars and 1950's fashion & culture and dancing. The good news is 1950's style music and culture is vibrant and very much alive in Australia! Long may it continue into the next century and beyond .....

Good report seeing as you weren't there, jitts. Shows what a resourceful mod can do. My congratulations also go to the organising commitee for returning all profits back to the community. Charity is one of the 'pillars' of a good moral society and it's great to see it still exists. We will be at Camperdown next year.

Good music and I love to see the youngns having fun, but the cars are cars. Car folk love 'em and dancers love dancing. They're different fraternities.

We had a car show and shine in Nagambie a few months back and we tried to arrange for rockers to come, but when we asked for posters and stuff were were told that while there will be music the show is about cars and dancing comes a bad second. So we didn't bother.

I have to agree with them actually. It's about cars or it's about dancing. We can't expect car enthusiasts to care about dancing and vice versa. Sure, some folk are nuts about both, but I reckon that they are the minority in each case.

Of course, others will differ and may even become all stressed about it, but it's still my opinion.
