Camp Hollywood is one of the world's premier swing dancing competitions which is held annually in the USA. However, I have noticed that each year it does show case and try to re-create rock n roll dancing and dance scenes from 1950's movies. This year's competition again show cased 1950's rock n roll dancing in all its glory. Here's the video. I hope you enjoy watching it.....

I've just been reading a Rock & Roll News from 1996. It's interesting to see the prices of some of the big dances were around the $12 - $15 mark compared with the $15 - $18 price range of today. That's not a bad inflation rate over the past 23 years! I'm sure the cost of venue hire, bands, insurance etc have all gone up a lot more than they were in 1996.

As in previous years, rockers from all over Melbourne came together to take part in the Good Friday RCH Appeal. This is a traditional event that has been happening for many years and it's a way for our Rock n Roll community to show we care. What a fabulous event again in Merimbula for the 10th Sapphire Coast Rock n Rodders Festival. Gippy Rocks hosted its fifth year of Rock n Roll Festival in Sale last weekend and it was a very enjoyable weekend of R&R music, dancing and competition. The weather was fantastic all weekend. It was also my first time attending a R&R event in Sale. Gippy Rocks is a charity event with all profits going to charity and for a very good cause. Well done to Gippy Rocks....
