In the wake of the COVID-19 worldwide crisis, which is affecting almost every aspect of society globally, the Victorian Rock’n’Roll Dance Association has made the decision to postpone the Victorian Rock’n’Roll Dance State Championships, originally scheduled for May 16 at St. Sava in Greensborough, Victoria, with a likely new date of August 22.
Adrian organised a second bush fire appeal at Eddies Poolroom last Friday night and it was a roaring success in more ways than one. Three bands offered their services freely plus Eddies Poolroom chipping in as well. The bands were the Treblettes, Lost In Louisville and the Pearly Shells Hot 5. About $3,500 was raised on the night through a mix of entry fee, silent auction and raffles.

A bush fire benefit gig featuring the Honky Tonk Rockers and Jump Cats was held at Eddies Poolroom last Friday night drawing in a big crowd of rock n roll and swing dancers who were very enthusiastic to do their little bit in support of those communities devastated by the recent, and ongoing, bush fires around Australia. It was a fantastic night of dancing to country rock music by the Honky Tonk... [Read More]

Parkes Elvis Festival has been running for 28 years and today is still going strong and remains very popular with the locals and visitors and especially so for the regulars who go to Parkes year in, year out. It's my first time attending the festival this year and I must say, I had a great time. Perhaps suffering a little over exposure of Elvis in a single long weekend.
The Summer Rocknroll Festival in Geelong organised by the Geelong Jukebox Rockers was held over 3 days with dances on Friday night with the Fender Benders and on Saturday night with the Smokin' Wingtips. There was also a dance workshop and rocknroll dance competition on Saturday. From all reports, the dances were very well attended.

I too joined in the fun by attending the dinner... [Read More]

At a time when several venues have closed their doors, the Dandenong Workers Club continues to provide quality live rock n roll bands and dancing every Friday night. There is also a live band on Saturday nights too. If you want more, you could also dance to DJ Flash or DJ Jeff on Sunday evenings. I have attended the venue since the early 2000's but I am sure it has been operating as a rock n roll... [Read More]

Sydney band, Toni & the Rhythm Cats, made its second performance tour to Melbourne last weekend. They played in Melbourne earlier this year when DJ Ashley brought the band out to play at the German Club in Windsor.
I first saw the band at Coolangatta's Cooly Rocks On 2 years ago and was impressed with their selection of tunes which are just great for rock n roll dancing. But I... [Read More]
