Adrian organised a second bush fire appeal at Eddies Poolroom last Friday night and it was a roaring success in more ways than one. Three bands offered their services freely plus Eddies Poolroom chipping in as well. The bands were the Treblettes, Lost In Louisville and the Pearly Shells Hot 5. About $3,500 was raised on the night through a mix of entry fee, silent auction and raffles.

Parkes Elvis Festival has been running for 28 years and today is still going strong and remains very popular with the locals and visitors and especially so for the regulars who go to Parkes year in, year out. The Summer Rocknroll Festival in Geelong organised by the Geelong Jukebox Rockers was held over 3 days with dances on Friday night with the Fender Benders and on Saturday night with the Smokin' Wingtips.
