    Fenderbenders hit Albury

9pm last Friday night Albury had a very unfamiliar sound echoing out from the local club that Rock & Roll beat from a well known trio out of Melbourne, James & his trusty crew had opened up over the dance floor, "The Fenderbenders" were off on a three day marathon of dance music for the rockers of the North East Vic, Southern Riverina NSW, & co workers from Jimmy’s work place, down Melbourne way.

James had been looking forward to this Gig, as he said he is always happy to do gigs in the country areas, the people are friendly and generally always happy. Some of the comments from patrons at the club were things like "Gee these guys are good", "Where does this band come from aren't they great", "We need more bands like this here"; there was not one bad comment, not one!!!

The Rockers danced & danced for three nights they danced, some from as far away as QLD to the mighty 'Fenderbenders", the dance floor never cooled, some dancers fell by the wayside mostly being all danced out, "The Fenderbenders" never wavered they were on a mission, to get through a whole weekend 3 nights of 4hrs of full on Rock & Roll music and every night of something new, something different, new music and more new faces dancing to that beat.

Sat night the excitement in the lounge was huge, the dance floor packed, seating was at a premium, the whole place was thumping, the club probably has never been so packed with people for a long time, "pumpkin time" came and went, the Band played on, the dancers danced, the punters watched & listened, the music was fabulous, at the end of the night something which I have never ever seen before, Chris the night manager for the club came over to the band to comment on how good they were. To know Chris, this is extraordinary.

    So James take a bow!

Sunday the club began to fill early this time, Rockers awaited, eager to hear that now familiar sound of Fred's drums, Terry’s bass and James's totally untuneable guitar , filling the room with Rock & Roll music, to again start the place thumping, for another 4hrs, of red hot Rock & Roll.

Come Monday there will be lots of sleeping workers, most dancers would have been lucky to hit the sack before 1.30am Sat & Sun, It was close to 3 am by the time we got some shut eye. and all the energy used if harnessed to a generator probably could have powered the whole town, for the night, I know my chick danced over 40km for the weekend, so I probably went that far too. Now that’s one hell of a lot of dancing. So not only will they be asleep on the job but they will be a bit sore too, not much production up here this week!

Not sure about James, Terry or Fred, they were awake when we left them on Sunday night. James mumbled something about eating frozen mulberries to keep awake on the drive home. I don't know about this herbal remedy maybe it's an insomnic drug.
Big Big thanks to James Terry & Fred, top weekend guys please come again we think you are tops. We’ll have some fresh country air, a couple or three slices of Prime beef steak & maybe a Mulberry cheese cake.
