The organizing of “The Return To Springy Rock Bushfire Appeal” is well under way.
Sunday 28th. of June. Springvale Town Hall. 1.00pm. till a bit after 10.00pm. Write that in your diary, or circle the date on your calendar. You can bring your non dancing friends as for the first hour Top Cat Dancers (Lynette & myself) will be giving a learn to rock & roll, beginners class, with an easy routine.
Then the following top bands are donating their services to this great cause. THE BLACKHILL RAMBLERS, THE HEADLINERS, THE FENDER BENDERS, ROCKIN’ DADDIES, THE SPEEDSTERS, STRAIGHT 8’s, RICK CHARLES with MARCIA RAE, FLASHBACK. 3 top dj’s to fill in the band change overs, DJ FLASH, DJ JEFF, DJ TC.
Garrleigh Trophey Centre (Hallam) are donating tropheys for a Classic Car / Hot Rod Show & Shine.
Tickets will be a mere $15 for adults, $10 under 16 y.o. We would rather those that can afford it, to buy a few raffle tickets and/or leave their change when they leave.
Lions International, Dandenong Luncheon Group have joined me in this venture. All money raised will be handled by them and donated to the “Black Saturday Appeal”.
Lions are helping very much on the day and will be manning the kitchen with bottled water, soft drink and some nibblies. It will also be a B.Y.O. Lions will be doing a sausage sizzle in the afternoon.
The City of Greater Dandenong are donating the use of The Springvale Town Hall.
Billy Hyde are donating the use of a drum kit and a couple of amps.
Cliff & Maryann Jolly (Rockin Daddy’s/Atomic Hi-Tones) providing the P.A. for the day.
Leader Newspaper (Springvale-Dandenong) are going to do our printing promoting for nix. Dandenong Luncheon Lions & Top Cat Dancers will be setting up and closing down and doing the door. Thanks, Little Maria as well. Help gratefully accepted, in this area.
Dandenong – Strathfield Radios & Applied Logics have donated Items for raffle.
Gold 104.3 have offered to promote.
