  1. Exclamation Bushfire Blues Relief - Music Festival

    Sunday 8th March 12pm – 9pm $15

Young and Jackson (across Flinders Station) have joined the Bushfire Relief Pubs United Music Festival , bringing you an absolute STELLAR LINE UP of Australia’s best Blues artists including Geoff Achison, Jimi Hocking, Collard Greens and Gravy, Matt Dwyer and the Magnatones, The Holiday Adventure, Louis King and the Liars Club and Jeannie Lushes and the Bad Blues Boys.

Artists are donating their performances on the day and proceeds of sales of CD’s will also go to the Benefit. What terribly lovely people!

Not only will the biggest blues line up in the Southern Hemisphere make your Sunday, but Young and Jackson are donating all money from selected Beers on the day… making you feel even better about sinking a cold pint!

Be sure to bring your credit card because some awfully nifty items are up for Auction on the day. Items include an Acoustic Guitar – signed by the artists from the day; a mounted Crowded House picture with ALL autographs from the ORIGINAL band; and a framed, autographed picture of all performing artists ,

Doors open at 10am on Sunday 8th March on the Long Weekend. The first act begins at 12pm and the bands go through until 9pm, then until late with the DJ. This ‘feel good’ music festival will have you feeling great!

  2. Thumbs up Re: Bushfire Blues Relief - Music Festival

Thanks to everyone who either attended or helped with the Bushfire Relief Pubs United Music Festival on Sunday 8th March at Y&J's.

The Day was a Roaring Success - raising just under $5000 for the day from Door Sales, Charity Auction, Donations and Beer Sales.

All musicians put on a brilliant performance. Jimi Hocking jumped up with both Geoff Achison as well as Jeannie Lushes Bad Blues Boys for a double entendre of guitar licks. Jeannie did an awesome job of organising the gig, then Rocking out with her frock out on the day.

Louis King and the Liars Club belted out brilliant dirty rock n blues and added their special guitar genius to rock the room, as well as some witty banter

Collard's brought the pace back to the dirty bad blues... leaving everyone in the room pretty much spellbound. I'd have to say there is not much better when it comes to the Blues.

The Holiday Adventure are classed more as Soul than Blues, yet the boys sure got into it anyways despite playing with a new drummer for the first time. They would have to be one act to watch - 3 singers in the band including Sim Martin (ex Stove-top) who creates something new on the guitar each time on stage. We are all for creative... Terrific stuff.

Matt Dwyer and the Magnatones finished the Day rocking the Main Bar to the extreme - loads of fancy tricks and licks - wowing the crowd again.

Everyone should be proud - a BIG THANKYOU to you all!

Photo's have been posted on the 24/7 site. Link is underneath. Hope you enjoy them, and thanks again!
