New legislation has been put before the Victorian Parliament to compel clubs, pubs and bars to provide free drinking water for all its patrons. Certainly good news for many including "water drinking" rock & roll dancers but maybe not so good news for some venues that rely on water bottle sales.

Most of the venues I go dancing already provide free water for its patrons so the new legislation would have no impact really. Also some dancers prefer to drink only bottled water. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to see how those venues that used to charge for drinking water react to the legislation changes. Charging a small entry fee perhaps? Or at least reduce the price of bottled water to maintain revenue flow?
