What a weekend! The Commercial club at Albury was rockin' & shakin' last weekend. On the Friday night early 4-8pm, a little known singer in the dance scene, fronted a good crowd of dancers and had the floor full for the entire gig with a repertoire of good rock & roll music. Her name was Sharon Benjamin; she travels extensively and has some of her own songs on the charts.
Dom & the boys from Itchy Fingers took the stage at 9pm and from the onset, played in true form, with the beat of R&R & Rockabilly till 1.00am, what a night, some of the country rockers didn't seem to be fit enough to last the distance, and the group of dancers slowly faded, come pumpkin time, only the hardened stayers where left.
On our way back to the cot, we discussed the pros & cons of going on to Barham, or having a total weekend of Itchy Fingers.
Saturday night we lined up for another issue of Dom, Rob, Tony & Damian, trying to blow the roof clean out of the Albury Commercial club & what a night, rockers filled the floor, and we danced till we just couldn't any more, I didn't think I'd ever see the day that my chick would say half way through "Johnny be good" a dance song she loves "I can't dance any more my feet are like lead, I've got to sit down".
Sunday morning 2 am she's sitting with her feet in a bucket of salt water. The comment was "got to get the feet right for tonight" later that day it was back to the Commercial club for another issue of fantastic music from Itchy Fingers. What a weekend a big thanks goes to the Commercial Club for hiring the bands. To Sharon, Dom, Rob, Tony & Damian the whole weekend was a blast, thanks guys we had a great time.
