Adrian organised a second bush fire appeal at Eddies Poolroom last Friday night and it was a roaring success in more ways than one. Three bands offered their services freely plus Eddies Poolroom chipping in as well. The bands were the Treblettes, Lost In Louisville and the Pearly Shells Hot 5. About $3,500 was raised on the night through a mix of entry fee, silent auction and raffles.

It was advertised as a swing night but rock n roll was thrown into the mix as those who attended came from the two dance genres plus the music on offer was swing, jump blues and rock n roll. Nevertheless, it was a great night full of fun and for a very good cause. I was particularly pleased to see the Treblettes for the first time. The trio performs mainly as a tribute to the Andrew Sisters. I was also impressed with Lost In Louisville as well. The band came out to perform after being away from the scene for many years. As the name suggests, the band does tribute to the great 1940's jump blues tunes of Louis Jordan.

Well done to all who attended and special thanks to the bands & Eddies Poolroom who donated their services for free. Well done to Adrian too!
