    Dancing Argentina style

I have been keeping in touch with Rocky for the past 4 years and in that time we have swapped many tunes and videos . I will send him clips of some dances we have been to and he sends this stuff back to me. The interesting thing about it is the music these guys dance to and make it look good. Notice how the men seem to put so much into their dancing. Dont how long they keep dancing at that pace. Check out some of the other clips Rocky posts, some very cool dancing indeed. Oh ,anyone know the tune playing in the first clip? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oqb4JiJVihw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fi8meU52on0

Cracking bit of Jivin in the top one

Would have had the stroll danced to it in our clubs here, don't know the tune, but sounds 30's or 40's big band?

Heres a translated quote from the original post on Youtube "I remember that party at the Continental Hotel was an honor for me to rock and roll and dance to the black ana" so is Black Ana the name of the tune? No reference to who its played by.

Only every actually seen 1 other couple dance in that style, way way back, and they applied that slower smooth flowing style to all tempo's, not easy, but great to watch

Second one's not bad but seems to be a bit of male posing there lol like the blokes are boppin and the lasses are jivin lol

Song on second one is Mack The Knife, originally performed in that style I believe by Bobby Darin, but written back in 1928, more info on the net!

Just another clip with one fantastic tune and some great dancing. Check out the couple at around the 1 minute 10 second mark. Would ,love to see some of this at dance championships. Even as an exhibition. Energy plus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XohfPvgy4LI

Grasshopper rock is "boogie woogie" . It is a 6 count dance and certainly swings compared to ballroom jive. Didnt see any Lindy hop there.

    Sorry Jac

Link Davis - Grasshopper Rock certainly aint Boogie Woogie

It was recorded by the Starday Label which was a country/cajun/rockabilly label [country including hillbilly and western swing as thats what it was defined as in those days]

    http://www.cherryred.co.uk/revola/artists/linkdavis.php

He covered a lot of styles but that more Rock n Roll/Rockabilly but dont see boogie woogie in any of them bios?
