Few people in our rock n roll / rockabilly scene would not know of Danny Boyd and his band Flashback. An institution in Melbourne and Victoria, the band has been around for over 30 years and Danny has been the leader and lead singer for most of that time.
Most of you would have been entertained by Danny’s singing, experienced Dannys tribute to Elvis and Al Jolson and danced to the bands music at one time or another.
Yesterday I heard that Danny has been diagnosed with inoperable stomach cancer and will be undergoing chemotherapy sometime soon..
I'm sure you will all join me in wishing Danny a speedy recovery… Get well soon Danny!!
For the venue operators out there, Danny has assured me that the band will continue to honour all its commitments; he has no plans on taking it easy just yet.

Danny has been an insperation to so many people over a lot of years, it hasn't just been his fabulous voice that has entertained us, it's all the work behind the scenes that I am sure goes unnoticed.
I first met Danny at dance class quite some time ago, it was his responsibility to sit in the corner and play CD's for some 20 years, for five sessions a week while the class learnt how to rock n roll.
Over the time I have known Danny we have become very close friends, one thing stands out alone " Danny's music and his love of his band Fashback"
I am sure we have all had (darkest hours) and had them lightned up by Danny and his band ,its time now to lightnen his darkest hours.
It's time for some pay back, so all you rockers that have been touched in some way by the Danny Magic its time to support him and his band when they need you the most.
There is always a hurdle to jump for each and every one of us, I am sure you can tackle this one full of vigour, as you do with your music.

It truly a very sad time to here that Danny is going through this S**T .He been entraining us for the last 20 to 30 years & many of you have learnt to dance to his music. We go back a long way and I thank you for getting me back into Rock and Roll.
I forgot to tell you on the phone the other day, that I still retain the thought of us back together both doing those Elvis ballads that I love playing so much, in our Twilight Years.
So while fighting this battle, just remember that it ain't the Twilight Years just yet.
