    Wink "Pyalong's at it again"

Well it’s 13 weeks to the day, the weather is very similar to the previous occasion of the pilgrimage. Massive storm cells dump rain again across Victoria. The storm warnings are out, & Norni & Mick are feverishly working to arrange the Pyalong hall for an expected sell out crowd of rockabilly pilgrims.

We need to go back to events from February and my previous post where I found it compelling to write a review, because of an unusual story, this again, like the day, like the weather, are all similar & the story like the last needs a little lead up & it all comes from real live happenings

It’s Friday the 28th the little Pyalong hall is basking in all splendour as Circus Oz entertains a large group of School kids, and at the same time hosts a fun run fund raiser, with some mature aged people.

The little Pyalong hall notice’s an early model white F100 with 2 people on board quietly pull into the car park, this is a very worrying sight for the hall, as on previous occasions this occurrence usually ends with some structural integrity testing music

The frivolity of the kids and the circus was a happy time, but the sight of this lovely restored F100 was some concern, fortunately after some consultations with the occupants of the F100 & the hall people, the vehicle departed.

It’s now Saturday, rain has been pelting down most of the night, everything is saturated. The local golfers who have been washed off their golf course finally finish at the hall for some refreshments etc the 19th hole so to speak, it’s mid morning a rain drenched Ford F100 again quietly rolls into the car park, the occupants have some consultation with the golfers, then leave. The Hall is now becoming concerned this vehicle has been twice in two days, something is being planned!

The hall was successful in keeping those golfers till 6pm Saturday evening, then the F100 arrived again, this time it was apparent some music was going to emanate from the inside of the hall, tables were being arranged, posters & banners were being hung and Ohh no! the reading on the poster was “Ignition” this was the band that was here last time shaking the walls and windows with that rockabilly music, and all those dancers jumping & rocking all night into the wee hours of the morning.

The then familiar faces of Dave, Dizzy & Peter and some unfamiliar, later to learn was Ehrin, Gary & Jack from another rockabilly band “Longbilly” and some new kids on the scene Jake, Ehrin & Braiden the “Road Ratz” all carrying musical instruments and sound equipment. It seems like the Hall was to be used again, for some high powered foundation destroying rockabilly music.

We had driven for about 3hrs to arrive at about 7pm, everything was set, Norni had completed the arrangement in about 1hr and was waiting for the punters to arrive.
They did, arriving in their Mustangs, Fairlanes, Holdens, Galaxies, Fords Etc and of course that notorious, faithfully restored F100 with Mick at the controls, loads of chrome littered the car park.

“Longbilly “opened the night air with some full on heart pumping, foot jumping, body spinning rockabilly. The punters went wild the hall began to vibrate. After a short break it was “Ignition” to again test the structural integrity of the Little Pyalong Hall,
Then the new kids on the block “Road Ratz” they gave us an issue of fantastic rockabilly and some bordering Psycobilly, brilliant, it’s the talent of these young kids that makes me gob smacked.
The Jam sessions that went on throughout the night in the Hall were awesome & had to be seen to be believed, especially with some extra young talent in the form of Luke & Dylan, up and coming very young muso’s, I am guessing well under 10yrs old. It was a great night of dancing, socializing & allowing our bodies to soak up that wonderful rockabilly music, now even though it’s Sunday I can still hear that fantastic music belting around in my head.

Probably one of the really good things that came out of the night was Rhiannon received an extra $400 + for her rehab from the raffle, the punters were so generous, any raffle at this venue generally brings in around $200. Norni was ecstatic.
Thanks everybody especially Norni, we left about 1.30am and climbed into bed at 4am still excited about what we had seen, and the dance music was perfect, for that calorie consuming Rockabilly.

Some interesting info was gained during the night the next dance at Pyalong in August is half sold out already, so if you’d like to get a skin full of full blast rockabilly you’d better be quick. We’ve got our booking so we’ll see you there. The following dance, which to this moment has NOT even been organized at this point in time, has about 20 bookings.
    Shhh!!!! don’t tell the hall.
