    Band Bashing

Band Bashing is giving us the s....t's, and from our point of view diminishing the quality and enjoyment of Vicrock.

What is wrong with you Melbournites? You have the most and best Rock bands in the country and heaps of venues to select from.

If you don't like a band.....don't go to see them...Go somewhere else...If your favorite band is not playing anywhere, go and see a band that you haven't seen yet. BUT, if you don't like them, don't bag them on Vicrock.

Oh, and we might dish it out at times, but personal muck raking is NOT our scene and Band Bashing isn't either.

Is this the Kramer that said the Blackhill Ramblers were'nt Rock and Roll enough (or something like that), now defending the bands.
Are Brucy and Kramer peas from the same pod.

    FIGJAM,
We are glad you posted on this topic as it gives us a chance to state for the millionth time, "we have never bagged the Black Hill Ramblers" If you were paying attention at the time, we were merely pointing out that they were predominately a "Country Band".
Again, we have seen Shane and the boys perform and loved their music, just as we love our very extensive collection of Country recordings. It just ain't Rock and Roll.
And, thanks Shane, it is nice to be back but things appear to be a bit quiet with not much to stirr about.
Squid and Sue....We ain't musicians, but a clue we are prepared to let out of the bag is that recording plays a very large role in our lives.

PS Kramer I think you are trying to deflect but that aside, you do help to liven things up and get discussion happening.
Your Rambler comments got some momentum happening and really put the focus on the FTG when it just got started.

Bruce, Kramer and the other bloke, keep up the good work. You are helping other bands get some great advertising although for you its backfiring.

    Re:Best going around

Saturday night at the Waltzy was jammed packed. Flashback needs to get a smaller following or the Waltzy needs to double the dance floor space. Wow what a great night. It was a great way to celebrate my birthday. Thank you Flashback. If crowds are an indication of success Flashback must be the best going around.

    Re:Band Bashing

I totally agree Saturday night at the Waltzy was fantastic night.
Being a pom and love to rock and roll it was great to hear Danny from Flashback singing "You'll never walk alone" and "Fairy across the Mersey" Two of my favourite songs. He dose a very good job on both songs, but that is nothing compared to "Over the rainbow" when everyone on the dance floor stopped and applauded him. Keep up the great work Danny.
Johnny did three or four Buddy Holly songs which are really good and Wayne did his version of Kansis City. I think Leon nearly smiled and the drummer who filled in for Frank did a great job.
The dance floor was never empty and great dancing to great music what more could you ask for.

Welcome back Dave. *hugs* Hope you've been well.

You might think most bands are crap, but you have to admit we have a huge scene here compared to the rest of Australia. We have the best Rockabilly bands here and a few great R'n'R bands as well. Melbourne really is spoilt for choice. Aren't we lucky? :P

    Dave,

I appreciate your up front come back. There are bands I do not go to see, but I try to talk up the bands I really like rather than put down the ones I do not.

Sorry to be nosey but I get curious:
    - What current Melbourne and Aussie Classic Rock and Rockabilly bands do you like?
    - How come you chose a female avatar?
    - If you really are writing to us from FNQ why do you care who is performing in Melbourne, there must be a few crap bands in the North to unload on, or were you just there when you started this posting.
