If you can still get cheap air to Auckland, dont miss this awesome event.

This year is the tenth birthday for the Whangamata Beach Hop in New Zealand. The entrants for cars is massive this year.
It is a monster Hot Rod/Nostalgia event in a regular year, so the town will be bursting this year.
There are all the great features that make these events so appealing with bands, cars, amazing market, street entertainment, kroozes etc etc.

Many 20 somethings dress for the event, much like at the Melbourne Cup.
Girls in police or nurse uniforms with fish net stockings and lots of cleavage.
Plenty of eye candy for all.

Modelled on Wintersun with a heavy weight of high octane, radio active. super charged energy. There are many opportunities to dance if dancing is your poison.

Entertainment in venues is all free. There are beer gardens overlooking the street. You cannot actually take alcohol into the street, but you can enjoy without missing out on the action.

We had an orange milk shake. I've never seen that flavour anywhere else before.

This event attracts many of all ages. Whangamata is the surfing/beach loving capital of NZ so is geared up with lots of accommodation and modern facilities.

And the water is very warm because of the Pacific currents and vocanic activity. Also, Whangamata is closer to the equator than Melbourne.

Atomic Hi-Tones, Flying Saucers, Retro Rockets & the Flattrackers will be appearing along with NZ's best.

Our mates Marie & Dave who have a band Rockabilly Rebels will be there again too. They have just released a new CD which has some really good versions of some great material.
