I came across this clip of some very nice dancing. sure it,s not rockabilly as the title says but still very nice. After watching this clip a number of times I kinda like the tune as well..Anyone know the tune and who recorded it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_hGwodfBWc
Roknray - I like the clip & country rock tune very much. I can't tell you the name of the song but the band is Perth's Peter Busher & the Lonerangers, and the video was taken during a Sunday evening dance at Perth's Mustang Bar. I do recognise some of those dancers in the video.
I bet Shane from Blackhill Ramblers will know the name of this song.
Bob Dylan...I Think the song is called EASY CHAIR..or DOWN IN THE EASY CHAIR...Something like that, we used to play it years ago.Only to be TOLD!!!....YA CANT DANCE TO IT!!!!!..THANK YOU Mr Busher for prooven em wrong. How times change..Shane bhr
I got it Shane. The track is by the BYRDS. But I gotta say the version by the band in the clip is spot on.I have to try and get their version some how. You guys don,t have on any of you cd,s
No wuz Brother..I will try!!!! and get you a copy of the song...I like ya taste in music mate.I agree with you.GREAT VERSION of a classic song...Shane bhr
If you have trouble getting the song I could track down a Peter Busher CD, that'll have it included & make you a copy over here in Perth.
They were flogging Peter Busher & the Lone Rangers CD's in at the Mustang Bar last year but I didn't buy any coz his Country and Western style stuff is not exactly my scene. I dance to them every Sunday but a some of his tunes are a bit slowish.
That,s very kind of you Neil.I,d love a copy.I have the Byrds version of this tune but always figure Aussie,s can do it just as good and sometimes better that the imports. Thought you might enjoy this tune when you say country rock can be a little slow. Check your PM for my address .Thanks again Neil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-vaos88ICs
Thanks mate .I will pump some tunes your way, just say when and I will stop.Let me know your style(rock n roll/rockabilly ) and I will do my best. Cheers Ray.
Hi Gags. Thanks for the reply. The clip is Bob Dylan singing his version of the track. It seems the management of Mr Dylan wanted him to be more appealing to a broader public so had him record this tune. Not bad eh ,but Peter Busher and the lonerangers over in Perth do it justice.I believe the Black Hill Ramblers do it to and cannot wait to hear them sing it. I will be letting Shane know I when we will be at one of their gigs to make sure they sing it for me.Thanks again Gags. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QrlDYQQFd4
