    Online Slap Bass Lesson's

Now online lessons on how to play Slappin' Bass.
Came across this website and I found it to be intersting as I love the sound of the double bass. I hope that you'll find the same.

This time we do exactly the same as in lesson one. Only this time we are playing from the key of E. So go to your D string and find on this string the E tone! You can check yourself by playing the E string.

    Explanation of lesson two:

Now we continue with the slapping part. It is easy!

Pull the E tone on the D string and than slap with your flat hand twice on the fingerboard. It doesn't matter were you do this. Do whatever feels good for you. Then pull the B note on the A string and again slap it twice.

All together it will be like:
    Pull E slap twice
    Pull B slap twice
    Repeat this four times
    Pull A slap twice
    Pull E slap twice
    Repeat twice
    Pull E slap twice
    Pull B slap twice
    Repeat twice
    Pull B slap twice
    Pull Fis slap twice
    Repeat twice
    Pull E slap twice
    Pull B slap twice
    Repeat twice

Remember try to play as relaxed as possible. If you are feeling a cramp or your fingers are burning then possible you are cramping your muscles too much or using too much force playing the strings.

Try to learn the notes on the fingerboard.

    Have fun..

Extras (close-up of the bass walk):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9nq...layer_embedded

    Explanation of lesson three:

This time we are playing a bass walk. We continue with playing in the key of E. Remember the schedule = E A B. First we are going to find the right tones.

First the E tone (lose E string): Than

    G# - B – C# - E – C# - B - G#. Play this 2 times.

    Continue with

    A (Lose A String) – C# - E – F# - A – F# - E - C#. Play 1 time.
    G# - B – C# - E – C# - B - G#. 1 time
    B (on A string) D# - F# - E – B – E – F# - D#. 1 time.
    G# - B – C# - E – C# - B - G#. 1 time

Now you played exactly the same schedule as in lesson two. But now with walking the bass instead of this country style slappin’.

Talking about the slappin’. The bass walk you learned now, you can try to play this with pulling the strings. For the right effect you should hit the fingerboard when you are going to pull the strings. So slap your hand on the fingerboard and while doing this pull the strings.

Don’t forget to keep on practising the first two lessons. You should grow custom to the counting’s of the EAB schedule.

    Remember?

    E count till 8
    A count till 4
    E count till 4
    B count till 4
    E count till 4

Together this 24 counts or for every 2 counts one bar. So 12 bars. Make’s the 12 bar blues.

    Have fun!
