Im a 21 year old guy looking for a dance partner around the eastern suburbs, I know that there is a shortage of younger people in the RnR scene, so any help would be appreciated.
I dance RnR and Swing, and a little bit of everything else. I'm currently travelling between different dance schools in search of youngies, so if anyone here knows somewhere with a few young ones, that would be great.
Hey Kalel - great to know youngies like you are into R&R. And good luck in finding a R&R dance partner.
In addition to attending dance classes, you should consider going to dance gigs eg at Monash on Saturday nights or the Gully or Daveys on Sunday arvos where I notice there are usually a few "youngies" like yourself who love dancing including our illustrious blondecherry and Sarah. Give that a go.
In the meantime, get your "youngies" friends into R&R too .......enjoy your dancing!
When Alley Catz, Swing Patrol and Anna's Rock'n'Roll Rebels run gigs they have a quite a few younger people to dance with that I've noticed... plus if you check out bands when they're in PrinceBandroom, The Corner Hotel, Gully, Daveys, Monash, Lucky Garage 13 etc you'll meet heaps of people in no time. The Fun Pit in Richmond is great fun but mostly swing dancing.
