I think I have recovered enough from monday night to type a somewhat coherent review on here.......
Since the Gully is taking a break from sunday rockabilly until the 27th Jan, I decided to venture out and head up to Daveys, Frankston for the first time on sunday.
Straight 8's were playing..... in addition to the day being hotter than Sharon Stone in 'Basic Instinct' ... the venue was rather busy, the crowd was happy [i dont think i saw one person who wasnt smiling...], great bar service, and the band was fantastic.
Will probably head up there again when the Detonators are playing next....
I was delighted to hear "Don't go away baby [Don't go]" [video below] and "Worryin' Kind".

ended up at the "Pint & Pickle" down the street a bit.... another band was playing there, wish i could remember the name of them, but they were quite alright. played a bit of rock n roll... a bit of bluesy and a few pub standards.
good times, familiar faces, late night...... I will admit, I wasnt feeling too flash on Monday.
now.... I'm leaving the Gully New Year post up to someone else... as my version was viewed though too much red wine.
