You are right Mel - I hardly see anyone Rock & Roll dancing like that in Melbourne although I occasionally do a "Jive flick" every now and then in my dancing. But I suspect what the couple was doing was in fact a form of "acrobatic R&R" dancing which is popular in Europe especially in Germany.

BTW, if I remember correctly my past dance classes with Swing Patrol, they teach its newbies "6 beat" swing a bit like that ie using the Jive flick instead of the "step, step, back step" that we normally do in our R&R dancing.
