Now on the topic of silly songs that made it to the radio; how about "Rubber Ducky" by Ernie. I remember a whole bus load of Nashos, webbing on and ready to go, belting this out, much to the consternation of our Reg leaders. "Rub-a-dub, Ducky".

We got the same taste in music RobE, a fave song of mine is “Ernie” by Benny Hill.
But more in the rock & roll style: -
“Chest Cold Blues” by Vic Vapour & The Rubs.
“Chrome Dome Boogie” by Colin & The Combovers.
“Got no Sense” by Danny & The Dollars.
“Sick & Tired” by Jimmy Swaggert & The Icons.
Live & let Live, Love & let Love, Rock & let Roll, plus related clichés.

I've always liked Robert Gordon's version of: It's Only Make Believe and Flying Saucer Rock'n'Roll, the latter featuring snarling lead guitar from Gordon's manic sidekick the late 'Link Wray'.

    My boyfriend's back - Angels
    Respect - Aretha Franklin
Where did our love go - Supremes

Wink Re: Your favorite Rock'n'Roll song

great thinking!deliciouskandy!,this post will refresh a few memories, for past and present veiwers, and i honestly coudnt remember?contributing here, till i scrolled the posts,i wont bore you all with another song i liked, and like you, jackmoon!from the fifties! to at least,1962,63?when mowtown, and the twist!(chubbychecker)came along, and the beatles transformed?rocknroll music to pop music...but,i am gonna stir me mate, rob e up!and disagree?on,the immortal classic by roy o,in dreams,i believe its a rocknroll song, because like you rob,i believe roy detested pop?music too,but went with the flo,and recorded his beautiful ballads...cause its sad and mushy?dont mean its not rocknroll.like teen angel?or leader of the pack?well, roy o was a true statesman of original rocknroll music, tho alot of his hits came in the sixties,my veiw, oops!just scrolled again to see, deliciouskandy from new south wales!bought out this thread again, humblest apologies...tezza.

    Re: Your favorite Rock'n'Roll song

Hi jackmoon, good post.Damm about the chuck berry lead intro.More heart breakin news though. In dreams is about Roy O as a child wearing big black rimmed glasses, skinny little dude and in his eyes not that good to look at. He would fall asleep every night dreaming he looked more like the other kids without the glasses. So he had in his mind what he wanted to look like and the candy coloured clown they call the sand man made it happen. Have a listen to the words and it,s begomes very clear. (A bit like the Phil Collins track,in the air tonight. I hear that track now and it sends shivers down my spine). I watched a interview and Roy O revealed it in that interview. Anyway I only have to go to Buddy Holly for THAT,LL BE TH DAY for my all time greatest track. Then to Bill Hayleys ,cool track MOVE IT ON OVER.
That,ll be the day the music die,s
