Umm let me see, oh yes .. Boys are Back in Town.. Thin Lizzy ,
Flyin down the hwy.. Little Feat.
and who could forget that wonderful.. Tarantella... Bippa Bippa Bippa bippa bippa.. Itchy Fingers hahahaa
An all time fave is hard to pick from 1,000s of terrific songs:
I always enjoy it when I am out dancing and the band plays Jack Scott's "The Way I Walk". (except I like the chorus to be sung as "be do-bee do-bee do-bee, do-bee do wop") and also "Rock Therapy."
PS: 1. No offence Jack but I do not think of "In Dreams" as a Rock'n'Roll song. To me that is
Pop music.
2. Eh paisani, when we gonna hear a Rocked up version of "Tarantella?
It could be like what Dick Dale did for Miserlou. I wanna hear "Eh Cumpari" too.
Frank & Dom know how it goes " ... tu tu u saxofona ... " Mille graci!
Bill Haley and the Comets' "Rock Around the Clock". Ya had to be there to realize what a bombshell that was. The rocked up version of Hank Williams' "Move It On Over" is real close.

Johnny B Goode, by Chuck Berry
At the Hop! by Joey D & The Starlighters (is that right?
Maybe Baby by the late and great Buddy Holly.
Here's some heartbreaking trivia - Chuck Berry did not play the famous guitar intro on the recording of Johnny B Goode. It was a session guitarist that took that honor.
Good thread Jackmoon! I'd like to add a few of my fav's - although not ALL from 50's, but, as you say - were inspired by that era...
Good Golly Miss Molly - Little Richard
Mess of the blues - Elvis
Don't be cruel - Elvis
Teddy Bear - Elvis
Rockin at midnight - Honeydrippers
Mountain of love - Johnny Rivers

And I love "In dreams" too (but it can make me sad about old boyfriends!!)
I could add just about every 'Big O' hit and I admit many of his big ballads almost bring a tear to the eye. 'In Dreams' would have to rank among the best ever 'I've lost a lover' ballads.
The Great Pretender - Platters
Ain't It A Shame - Fats Domino
That's All Right - Elvis Presley with Scotty and Bill
Sweet Little Sixteen - Chuck Berry
Heartbreak Hotel - Elvis Presley
Rip It Up - Little Richard
Rocking Pneumonia & the Boogie Woogie Flu - Huey "Piano" Smith & the Clowns
Sixty Minute Man - Dominoes
What about these?.....
You never can tell - Chuck Berry (just looooved that twist scene with Johhny & Uma in Pulp Fiction)
Be-bop a Lula - Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps
Sexy & seventeen - Stray Cats
Rock this house - Stray Cats
Frankie and Johnnie - Sam Cook
Twistin the night away - Sam Cook
Oh Julie - Shakin Stevens
The way I walk - Jack Scott
Red Cadillac and a black moustache - Warren Smith
