If there is anyone out there who is Male in his 20s, Intermediate to Advanced looking for a dance partner in the Geelong area please let me know!
My boyfriend doesnt dance and I NEED to!
Id be interested in lessons/ dances or competition
I love to dance hard and fast, do you?
Can't stop dancing, eh? Well, I 've got good news for you! There's quite a few "sheep dogs" around at the Monash Hotel every Sat night, and the Ferntree Gully Hotel on Sunday arvos. These guys will dance your sox off ........... just ask for RobE, GAG, Noel, Whem, Icon, Wayne, Mick, Jazza and .......... eh, Jitterbug.
Long way to travel I know but if you happen to be on this side of town, now you know what to do.
Nigel Holloway - one of the best and most stylish rockers I have ever seen dancing R&R. A Swing teacher with Swing Patrol too. Around your vintage - in his twenties, he used to be associated with the Geelong R&R Club. If you can get in contact with him, I am sure he would know of rockers you can dance and compete with ..........
Cheers mate!
If I ever am over that way I'll keep those names handy!
Im always ready to rock someones sox off! My poor dance partner is in his fifties and every now
and then I have to return him to his seat for a breather!
Then someone else grabs me and Im back on the floor again- I love it!
Been dancing for 18 years, dont think Ill every stop!!!!

Contact the Juke Boxer Rockers in Geelong. They have a very active program of dance entertainment with weekly social and dance classes, plus monthly dances.
There 10th Anniversary celebration dance is on the 7th July and with about 500 people expected to attend, there is sure to be someone you could team up with to dance.
The Longyard at Geelong where dance classes and dances are also held, have a notice board you could advertise for a dance partner on.
Im a regular attendee at the Jukebox rockers dances and everyone there knows me.
However there is serious lacking of younger rockers around here.
I love the company of everyone at dances but to find someone around my age to dance/possibly compete with is difficult.
Ive only been to a few Jukebox lessons but everyone seems to come with a partner.
Thanks for the tip for longyard Ill check that out
We run classes in Sunshine every Wednesday, followed by Social Dancing with DJ Jeff, we have a few younger ones getting along to our classes, and you might even find someone that wants to compete. We teach in a progressive circle, so everyone changes partners every minute.
We have quite a few people that travel from Geelong, Gisborne and assoc. areas for our nights, so you might even know a few that get down there.
You can find our details under the AlleyCatz link in the dance classes section of VicRock.
Hope you find someone to further your dancing with, sounds like you are dead keen, good luck, and keep on rockin!
Im 21 male dancer, and living in the eastern suburbs, but I do have to agree with Rocker14, there is just a lack of younger dancers in the rock and roll scene altogether. which is pretty sad because its such a great dance.
