    BOBBY RYDELL & THE ALLSTARS

The very strong rumour is that Bobby Rydell, who has more than thirty top forty hits, will be performing in Melbourne with the Allstars later this year. Legends like this are well worth seeing

So what is Bobby like these days? What does he perform?

The material played on the radio way back then was always too pop Top 40 for my tastes.

I appreciated the big send-up he received in Grease.

Simple Â… if the promoters of Bobby Rydell or any 50Â’s & 60Â’s artists want bums on seats, then why not create and advertise on a website (Myspace?), where fans can see a live video performance of these yesteryear artists at one of their recent concerts. This will clear any doubts in peoples minds. Most people wouldnÂ’t mind paying a high price to re-live memories through concert, as long as they were assured that these entertainers could still deliver. Like Paul Anker & Gerry Marsden from the Pacemakers, I hear Bobby Rydell hasnÂ’t lost it and still maintains a strong singing voice. Not my cuppa tea but IÂ’m sure heÂ’ll be very entertaining for his fans.

Rydell is still now the strongest performer from that era. He has one of the largest fan clubs for an act from that era. Reports from overseas are that he still performs his hits extremely well.

That he still has a huge fan club and strong singing voice sounds very promising. I believe he generally only works a few days every second month in the states but we all need a rest hey? Like you Jazza and RobE not really my taste but I am sure his fans of past years would love to catch him. Lets just hope the price is not out of touch with the average aussie and then no doubt it will be a case of - build it and they will come... :P
