Have you tried 'Google-ing' for it...you'll be amazed what info comes back.....
If you don't know how to 'Google' why are you using a computer on the net??

It is a great pity you don't keep to the thread. But then you may not understand what luthiers do and their role with guitars so should we be sorry for you being so far off the thread?

Depends if you're looking at acoustic or electric guitar work and what kind of work you want done. J.Cargill in Seaford, J.Matheas in Fitzroy, Soundworks out in Ringwood, of course Maton in Box Hill -check out the MELBAND website as a few luthiers advertise on there too.

John Hanley, from Hound Dogs, is making acoustic guitars to order.

Geoff Atchison performed an acoustic set on one of John's instruments when the Soul Diggers were at Micawber last year. Geoff was particularly enthusiastic about the tone and feel of the guitar.

John tends to carve a little pointed dragon's tail coming off the bottom of the bridge and onto the body. Keep an eye out for this.

thanks Steveo. Have P bass, J bass, J200, 6120 Gretsch, strat, baritone Danelectro. Since Stewart Male passed away it has not been easy to find somebody with his focus on an accurate set up. Who have you used that has been fussy and given the most accurate result?

Point to any word in any text that relates to religion Allen - you said the word religion NOT anyone else. Now for those couple of poor little soles that didnt like my attempt at a bit of humor go and get a mirror and have a long hard look at yourselves - is your life really so pitiful that your only outlet is too swoop on some harmless comment on a web site and try and put down the person that made it ? I hope my life never becomes so mundane that I have to live on this site, telling people how good I was or am and taking cheap little pot shots from behind the safety of a computer screen...A couple of you are really sad.

Ian, since Stewart died I have taken my stuff to Mark Roper at Guitar Tuning Services in Sth Croydon 9725 5627. He's done my P, J and revitalized an old acoustic. His work is excellent.

    Re:LUTHIERS

Ian, a few years ago I took my Gibson ES5 to a guy in East Geelong whose name I think is James McGrath (can't remember), I presume he is still working, but he was/is highly regarded amongst acoutic players with who trusted him with old guitars. Ring A&B music shop in Geelong to see if they have his number. A workmate had a mid sixties Mation similar to an ES335, he took it to Maton for a total refurbish and they did just about the best job I have seen on an old guitar.
