New Sunday night social dance starts 21st Jan

    Social Sundays @ Chatham

A new social Sunday night dance at Chatham Primary School, 1 Banool Rd Surrey Hills hosted by Jocelyn and Charles.

    6 - 9pm, BYO food and drinks

    Entry $10

As Adrian is no longer teaching there on Sundays, and the regulars wanted to continue with the Sunday nights, Charles and I have agreed to take it over and run a casual social dance night on Sundays.

We will offer everyone the chance to be a guest DJ for part of the night, so we can all dance to our favourite songs.

Start thinking about what you'd like to dance to, especially songs that don't get played at the usual dances, and put together a playlist of your favourites. You'll need around 10 -12 songs for a half hour playlist. Just save them to a usb, print out a list of the song titles, put the usb and list in an envelope with your name on it and bring it along to the dance.

We'll check the songs are danceable and don't duplicate other playlists, and will announce who's playlists will be played the following week. We'll return the usb at the following dance.

Alternatively you can post your favourite songs on the facebook page "Social Sundays @ Chatham", or email them to us at jocbloy@gmail.com

We hope this gets us all dancing to some new tunes, as well as some favourites. There will also be progressives and line dances each week, and we will play some that don't get danced much anymore. We also plan to introduce some new progressives (the hucklebuck, rock and roll roulette etc), with a walk thru during the night.

BYO food and drinks, it's an airconditioned venue with plenty of parking on the school grounds, and a big dance floor.

Surrey Hills is a fairly central location that's convenient for many inner and central suburbs.

Hope to see you on the 21st, cheers

    Jocelyn and Charles.
