Peninsula Rocks Celebrated 10 Years of R&R Bands & Dancing

Congratulations to Peninsula Rocks in celebrating 10 years of hosting live bands and R&R dancing at Rosebud Italian Club last weekend ! Peninsula Rocks celebrated in style last Saturday night with singing of the "Happy birthday" song and birthday cakes shared with all the dancers. It was a fully booked R&R dance.

Peninsula Rocks aim to bring R&R music and dancing to the Mornington Peninsula. It was started by 4 very dedicated devotees to the 1950's scene - Terry, Wendy, Jill and Mike. From a very humble beginning, it has grown over the years attracting a very loyal group of dancers mainly hailing from the Mornington Peninsula. Gigs are now held about once every couple of months at a very comfortable and air-conditioned venue which is the Italian Club in Rosebud. It has a relatively large size dance floor to keep the dancers happy along with bar facilities and lots of parking. Not a bad venue to hold a rock & rock dance.

The Vincents were the featured band on the night. An excellent choice as the Vincents are one of the long standing R&R bands in Melbourne. The band is much sought after by R&R dancers and their mix of 1950's and 60's classic R&R and country rock music is just perfect for R&R dancing.

Peninsula Rocks are keeping R&R music and dancing alive on the Mornington Peninsula. May it continue doing a great job for many more years to come .....
