If we tried to list EVERY busy band in Australia during 2006, we'd be here for days. :P
Busy bands aren't always the best bands in some cases. Then again, it depends on personal taste. What I think is great someone else might say is ordinary and vice versa.
Hank's Jalopy Demons is the best authentic Rockabilly band Melbourne has, yet they don't work all time time. Same goes for bands like Flatfoot Shakers, Flyin Saucers, Firebird, Wild Turkey to name just a few TOP bands who aren't booked solid every week.....

1] "Authentic Rockabilly" - others here know what it means. Seems you're the only one here who isn't sure what that is. Rockabilly came from the fifties, yeah? There's loads of bands who cover fifties Rockabilly songs. Hank's Jalopy Demons is the ONLY band I've heard in recent years who sound like they came straight out of Sun Studios. Hence, "Authentic Rockabilly".

Not a very nice thing to say about Danny. Everyone has the right to self promote. how else do others get to hear where you are playing. Why would a guy use the name Millie. Oh I get it like Millie Vanillie. The mouth moves but nothing comes out.....
5 good bands shadoogie vincents, speedsters,honey b,s, flashback.over a 12,months period they are the top five bands to get the work in the rock n roll scene.thats the way it,s been for many years as to the why who knows but facts are facts.

dont you people listen to whats said,5 good bands getting the work,rock n roll bands rock n roll bands hello im sure i didnt mention rockabilly bands did i.before this forum came along no one said a word about anything in the scene that was negative everyone just got on.and worked together for the end result which was socialising,dancing,and listening to all bands who were not one better than the other.there was a code of respect within the bands.know its turned to **** because of a hand full of people dedicated to bringing the scene down.i really dont think these people mean what they say at all, i know who most of them are,and they are nice human, ive spent half my life fighting for the rock nroll scene and i dont intend to stop know. most of you musicians know me so why not help out here and stamp out this stupid behavior.get on vic rock and promote your bands tell everone how good you are and the time and effort you put in to make it a band and keep it going with travelling, rehearsing,buying ,equ,away from your familys most weekends. and why for the love of playing rock nroll good on you guys in all the bands dam the torpedoes full steam ahead.i will wait im sure for the usual lot to find the negative in this post B) B) B) B) B) B) B)

We had the Straight 8's up here and the venue asked me how much to use my drums. I said for Vick & Ray they are free.
We have had people from Vic. Frank for one offered to provide gear for us. That is the brother hood of Bands.
You Shady people and you know who you are, have problems because you cause them.
Danny, not only have you put the effort in over the years but you have also had more than your fair share of ill health and you still keep at. You deserve congratulations for what you have done and are saying here. It is also worth noting that those who do the stirring on this website hide behind false names and do not put their details on members profiles.
Well, why charge a small fee to play,thats why you keep getting the jobs, and no one else can evan get a look in, and no one wants to pay what they should be paying.
As long as I get 95% of the jobs you can have the rest. is that your motto .
