Rosebud Rock 'n' Rods Festival 2015

Rosebud Rock 'n' Rods festival kicked off last night with Adelaide's "Teddy Boy" 1950's style rock & roll band, the Lincolns. It was a sell out crowd with a long waiting list to get in. For those lucky rockers with tickets, it was a great night of rock & roll music and dancing and the Lincolns certainly not disappointing their Victorian and Melbourne fans which seem to be growing by the day. I first saw the Lincolns played at Camperdown Rockabilly Festival several years ago and has felt then this band has something different with their "Teddy Boy" look, influence and style. The band's music is very danceable and is a mixture of self-penned tunes and other popular R&R dance songs.

The night capped off with dance demos from two young Victorian rock & roll dance champions, Andrew Camp and Ashley Tavner. But the real surprise (and highlight) which took place towards the end of the night has to be the "proposal" when Kud got down on his knee to propose to Trace and she said "yes". This is a dream come true for the lovely couple and I am so glad to have a first time experience witnessing a marriage proposal during a rock & roll gig.

Rosebud Rock n Rod Festival continues today with rods and Kustoms display, 1950's merchandise stalls and the Lincolns again playing in the main school hall along with 2 other bands including the Fender Benders. There's also a dance workshop with Andrew Camp and Ashley Tavner. Go along to support live rock & roll music, fashion and dancing, and have a great time!
