    Peninsula Rock - Itchy Fingers

I have said it once before but I‘ll say it again – the Mornington Peninsula rock! Last Saturday night, I attended their dance for the second time held at the Rosebud Italian Club, and it was just as enjoyable as the first. The dance is well organised by a small group of volunteers, has a lovely dance floor, a small bar facility but also offering free chilled, drinking water and lots of on-site parking and in the surrounding streets. No wonder, its dance has been so well attended by rockers living in the Peninsula and Melbourne Bayside. Keep up the good work, and keep it rockin’ Peninsula Rockers!

Melbourne’s very popular rock & roll band, Itchy Fingers, provided the music for dancing on the night. The band has frequently been referred to as playing “rock & roll music with an attitude” with a repertoire & versatility that blends rockabilly, 1950’s rock & roll, blues and covering rock music including popular classics from Chuck Berry, CCR, Jimmie Vaughan and Van Morrison. No doubt about it – Itchy Fingers keep you entertained and dancin’ all night long.

Melbourne is the rock & roll capital of Australia but it’s equally exciting to know there are also pockets of rockin’ activities all over Victoria. Pyalong with its well reported rockabilly nights, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo, Sale in Gippsland, Albury-Wodonga & Warrnambool have their rock & roll clubs holding regular dances. There’s also annual rock & roll weekend in Geelong, Ararat, Bendigo and Tallangatta to name a few places. Adding to that long list, we now have the bi-monthly rock & roll dance for those living in Melbourne Bayside and the Mornington Peninsula. Rock & roll is here to stay – so keep rockin’ everyone!

Re: Peninsula Rock - Itchy Fingers

Thanks JB for the write up and great videos. The Peninsula Rock Dances are always fun to play and the crowds are great. We enjoy playing for them all the time it's a great family feel down there.
And as you mentioned the Rosebud Italian Club is a great room they have down there it has to be one of the better sounding rooms to play in, even a gentleman made the same comment to me when i was at the bar.

all up a good night out, great to see a mixture of dancers out and having fun
    Cheers
Rock'n'roll will stand man - If i'm lying i'm dying
