Thumbs up Call the Firies Wandong was on Fire

I had the pleasure of attending the Wandong Country Music Festival yesterday and boy was I impressed, not only has the event grown with a heap of activity about the place; including a Ute show,Truck show, and a heap of stalls.

The weather was perfect for all who attended. Most of the focus was on main stage where some of the best country music was being hammered out.

We got there around 12:30 and missed the first act, but we got to see Ruckus a great act, as was the Sunny Cowgirls (yum), young Tim Farren took to the stage with his band and was brave enough to do a Mental As Anything song (him got balls). A great act also.

Then it was one of our local bands turn. Yes folks the Oysters slayed them in the aisles, well the turf anyway, a slick act this one!

Yorkie and the boys had travelled five hours to attend the music fest, and boy were they tired! That, by the way, did not in anyway effect these guys when they hit the stage, think WOW is the term I heard some punters use. The Oysters were Hot!

The headline act was The Wolverines, well what can I say but Oh ****! These guys never change; they do what they do best and that's entertain.

Didn't stay for the last act as the beer ran out. But a well organised day, the organisers should be congratulated.

Hey Frank thanks for your comments man.

We melted out of our cars at Wandong at 1.30 after being on the road since 8am and were pretty haggered until we saw the crowd and then we got pretty pumped. It was a great day and we were rapt to be able to get there and do our spot. Just a shame we didnt cath many of the other acts but it was a real pleasure seeing so many people there supporting country music.
