August is the anniversary of 20 years of Lindy Hop in Melbourne in Aug 1995 when Adrian Spadaro brought Sydney's first swing teacher Rob Bloom to Melbourne for several lindy workshops. To celebrate Adrian taugh a lindy workshop at Camberwell Bowls Club on Sunday the 26th of July. Everyone enjoyed the challenge of learning the first part of the famous Frankie Manning Lindy Chorus routine in an intensive 3 hour workshop. Many had never done Lindy Hop before so enjoyed the challenge of learning 8 beat swing moves. If there is enough interest Adrian will teach the routine in greater detail in the advanced classes at Camberwell at 5pm on Sundays so let him know if you'd like to learn it.
See below for some youtube clips of the Lindy Chorus routine being danced around the world for the Frankie Manning 100 tribute last year.
