Well, yet again the Bendigo Jailhouse Rockers put on a fantastic festival week-end of music, dancing and good old country hospitality! Chevrons arrived Friday afternoon and after setting up camp (and enjoying the obligatory holiday champagne/beer and BBQ dinner), we headed off to the Strathfieldsaye Sports Club to relax to the sounds of Blackhill Ramblers, meeting up with fellow members of the Geelong Jukebox Rockers. The floor was great, not too fast or slow - but "just right". Around 9ish we enjoyed a beautiful supper put on by the Bendigo members. As in past festivals the Bendigo club members had gone to a lot of trouble to put on a supper that was to be enjoyed by all.

Saturday morning, the Blackhill Ramblers entertained the crowd in the City mall with music for anyone who wanted to join in general dancing and DJ Flash providing a variety of music for both general and line dancing in the breaks.

Saturday night being the main night saw a big crowd turn up to dance the night away to the Cruisers and DJ Flash. After having had a few months off to recharge the batteries Cruisers were in sensational form playing music to which the enthusiastic crowd made the most of. Once again, a sensational country style supper was served and the raffles run.

On Sunday morning after packing up from Park Lane Holiday Village (a convenient 10 minute drive from the dance venue) we headed across for MORE dancing - someone had to do it! When we arrived there were a few "die hards" already there along with the Cruisers but I must say we all looked a little bit tired. With only the afternoon to go we got into the swing of things and made the most of the days music and dancing. After a sumptuous BBQ lunch was enjoyed by all, a Jack and Jill dance competition was run with T-Bird Rockers from Melbourne taking out 1st place - well done guys! The day concluded at around 3pm and after a great weekend of music and dance once again, we say a big thanks to Bendigo Jailhouse Rockers for another fantastic weekend! See you again next year......
