I was five when that film was produced and I really can't imagine my parents dancing like that, and if they did, I'm really pissed of that they didn't teach it to me in the 50's when we were experimenting with Rock and Roll!!!
Re this great vintage 1944 dance clip, and a bit of trivia. The female is Jean Veloz the Icon of the Hollywood style Lindy Hop - which was danced on all the old rock and roll movies. Her dance partner in the video is Arthur Walsh. Jean was brought out of retirement in 1992 by Marcus Koch & Barbl Kaufer, who invited her to perform and teach at an annual Swing dance event in Munich. This exposed her to a whole new generation of Swing dancers. And she is still teaching in California. In 1996 Jean was inducted into the prestigious California Swing Dance Hall of Fame .....
Love the video, Tezza. And thanks to Jiver J giving us some info about Jean Veloz. A search of Youtube library shows Jean Veloz still dancing swing .......a smooth style & full of showbiz. Age has not slowed her down and she's an inspiration to all of us who love dancing.
