Well done to the Prairie Oysters - it is good to see our very own local country band doing something positive, writing their own tunes and promoting themselves as well. I hope you get a bit of recognition for it.

I look forward to hearing the song next time I see you play

Thanks for your kind words... The song is kind of a special project for us because we were asked to do it by a member of Aussie Helpers. The challenge was for us city slickers to write a song farmers can relate to. We're pretty stoked its gone down well.

We're in the middle of recording it and we're hoping to release it as a single in the new year and donating a share of the proceeds to Aussie Helpers.

    We'll keep you posted

    Cheers

Tony, at first I thought it was a real cool song but after I read that rain turned to wild weather as storms lashed Victoria and some jubilant farmers predicted they might now have the best season in 25 years I thought to myself WOW!! This is awesome! The dust is really settling and the farmers have really won!!

    Like Steve Earle sings it:
And the good lord he giveth and he taketh away,
And the restless shall go and the faithful shall stay.
So don't you come around here with your auctioneer man
'cause you can have the machines but you ain't taking my land."

Good on ya Prairie Oysters for giving hope to the brave farmers who had faith and stayed!!

Thumbs up Re: The new song by The Prairie Oysters

Australian author Tim Winton (the bloke who wrote Cloud Street) said this sort of music should be called "Brown Grass".
