A couple of Wednesdays ago we had the pleasure of seeing a preview of a stage show coming up in November produced by Allen Wild called 'The King of Sun' - the story of Sam Phillips, Sun Studios and the creation of Rock and Roll. We were blown away by the quality, standard and sheer excitement of the performances by the young men that played, Elvis Presley, Billy Lee Riley, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis.
Currently studying at the College of Performing Arts they are completely new to our rock and roll scene and bring with them a fresh enthusiasm and exuberance that we rarely see around the traps nowadays.
These performers along with the backing band from the show (themselves impressive musicians) will be performing for the public at the St Kilda Bowls Club on Sunday the 21st of October from 7pm.
It will be a great night of music and fine dancing and there is no way I will miss this. You shouldn’t either.
