The new monthly gig "Backtrack" with Milton from Flipside, was a great night out last night (Wed 16th). The newly renovated venue "The Pearl" at Oakleigh RSL is a fabulous venue in the 1920's hall, with new sound, lighting and furniture.
The "Backtrack" night has Milton playing video clips on the giant screen, (with lyrics added for those who want to sing along), plus 3 rounds of triva (name the tv show, what's the next line, and name the song from the guitar riff played by guest artist Ash Robinson), some old TV commercials, lots of dancing, and several live songs played by Ash Robinson (from "Cotton, Keys and Morris", and the "Right Brothers").
A great mixture of video's, live music, dancing and trivia that left everyone cheering for more. Highlights of the night were Pink singing "Me and Bobby Magee", Ash's brilliant version of "Turn up your radio", and seeing the correct lyrics for so many songs.
The next "Backtrack" will be held on Fri 15th June. Make an effort to get along and check it out for a fun night.
