Ideas for coping with fast or slow dance floors

We've all experienced a dead slow dance floor, as well as a fast floor that's like ice. What tips do you have for dealing with these 2 extremes? I found this detailed article that has some good suggestions that may be of interest. Has anyone tried dancing on a slow floor with the little stockings over their shoes? I'm wondering how well it would work?

Re: Ideas for coping with fast or slow dance floors

Good topic as this seems a very common complain amongst dancers. Dancing in different venues particularly in pubs and hotels and trying to find a good dance floor that is not too slippery or too sticky can almost feel like trying to win the lottery. One week, the dance floor feels great. Come next week, it feels sticky. But I can vouch for having suede sole on my old pair of dance shoes. It just seems to cope well on all occasions, whatever the dance floor surface. Give it a try.

Or you can always try bringing two pairs of dance shoes with different soles. Problem solved ....but what a hassle.

Or try Joceb's suggestion. May well work but it does look a little funny on the dance floor, don't you think? Especially when you 're wearing that lovely 1950's dress your boyfriend or partner just bought you for that special occasion. LOL
