Flipside Xmas Dance Fri 12th Dec

What a great night to finish off a terrific first year of flipside dances! 300 rockers had a brilliant night dancing to Itchy Fingers who stepped in at the last minute after Rockin Daddy's had to cancel as Cliff was in hospital. Great music by Itchy Fingers, and I especially loved the added extra of the harmonica to the bands sound. The Alley Catz 8ww was a brilliant floor show with around 25 couples twice performing their routine. A spectacular routine with lots of lifts, jumps and new moves, with huge smiles on the performers faces, and great outfits. It was a lovely fast dance floor in the main hall, good air-conditioning, and enough room for everyone to enjoy the dancing. Milton was spied dressed in a santa outfit at one stage, and played some new video clips. There were plenty of great DVD's for sale to do some Xmas shopping, and clothing for sale in the foyer made it all a great night out.

The dance was sold out on Thurs with 350 booked, and a waiting list with many disappointed they'd missed out on a seat. Unfortunately 47 who had booked didn't turn up on the night. It's a pity those no show bookings weren't considerate enough to ring thru their cancelations so those sitting at home wanting to come could have had your seat.

Looking forward to the next Flipside dance in 2015. Thanks again to Milton, Sue, Allan and Sharyn, plus the other helpers, for taking on the challenge to run a rock n roll dance for us all. You've done a great job and given us all a great place to go each fortnight. A lot of work for you all, but I'm sure all the dancers appreciate your efforts. Have a great Xmas and see you in 2015.

Thanks JB, without your drive and enthusiasm the dance would not have been the success it has become.
I'd also like to thank the fantastic support given by this website and in particular, Mr. Paul Wan, who has been a wonderful' publicity machine' and supporter of our dance.
Like Jocelyn, Paul's love of Melbourne's present dance scene is second to none and look forward to enhancing the relationship in the coming years...wishing Paul & the Vicrock Community a wonderful Christmas & a Rockin' 2015
