Another wonderful festival in Camperdown last weekend. Slowly but surely, it is becoming one of the "must attend" festivals in Australia if you are into 1950's era music, dance, culture, pin up glamour, fashion, hotrods and Kustom cars. It was just about non-stop action from Thursday evening to late Sunday night with a huge line up of international and local bands with music genre ranging from rockabilly, rock & roll, blues, R&B and swing. There was something for everyone whatever your passion in the 1950's scene. And a very pleasing aspect of the festival was the mix of people involved in the scene and the coming together of Baby Boomers and Gen XY to play and have fun all week long.
The events were again staged concurrently across several venues - rockabilly stage, rock & roll stage, Tiki Marquee, Clock Tower stage as well as some live music in local pubs. There was merchandise stores galore, hot rods display, fashion parade, Miss Pin Up contest and even an open dance competition this year. Weather this year was fantastic with only a very brief drizzle on Sunday afternoon.
Top effort again from Arthur and his team in staging the festival.
