    Bendigo Jailhouse Rockers Festival

What a sensational week-end! Thanks to Mary and all the hardworking committee and members at the Bendigo Jailhouse Festival 2013. We arrived Friday night to a warm, friendly welcome and were entertained by the fabulous music of Coop Devine. The floor was a bit fast but everyone adapted and danced the night away, thoroughly enjoying the evening not to mention the country style supper that was on offer.

After a relaxing breakfast the next day, we headed into Bendigo mall and were entertained by Knock, Knock Rattle, a line dancing group and the Bendigo East College stage band. While it was pretty warm on the outside dance floor, there was a large crowd of onlookers who were thoroughly enjoying the music, dancers and sunshine.

Saturday night? Well, the Cruisers were the main attraction, so needless to say it was a fantastic night of dancing with a variety of music from the 50's and 60's and plenty of room on the floor. We met up with some fellow Geelong Jukebox Rockers and although none of us won any of the great raffle prizes, we had a top night of dancing, chit chat and laughs. Did I mention the sensational country supper they put on again?

Sunday morning we packed up our camper and headed back over to the week-end venue yet again. We could not have asked for a better "hair of the dog"! We arrived at 10am and left at "stumps". Cruisers entertained us once more, with would you believe it - even more room on the dance floor! Thanks guys, what a fantastic band you are! After enjoying the delicious bbq lunch that was prepared by our hosts, the main raffle of 2 x 5 nights on the Gold Coast was drawn (congratulations Mary - you deserve a rest) and the Jack and Jill dance competition was run to the delight and enjoyment of all.

No doubt we will be back next year for another fantastic week-end of dancing, great company and a thoroughly exhausting experience!

Thanks for a comprehensive review, ChrisR. Sounds like a great weekend of country style rock 'n' roll and, as usual, great country hospitality and supper. Any pix or videos from the weekend?

Yes, we do have some pix but you know how technology is - can never get the lastest and greatest to co-operate, but we are working on it. There were lots of people videoing (is that a word)? and taking pix so maybe they can upload what they have as well.
